A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,COMMITTING LOCAL MATCHING
FUNDS FOR F Y 2020 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
("CDBG")REGIONAL ACCOUNT APPLICATION(S).
WHEREAS,the City of Apache Junction adopted Resolution No.
20-08 o n April 21,2020 which authorized submission o f
application(s)t o the State o f Arizona Department o f Housing
("ADOH")for CDBG Regional Account Funding;and
WHEREAS,the applications indicate $62,181 will b e
committed by the City of Apache Junction a s the city's maximum
matching funds,i n the form of cash or resources to be used to
complete the community projects;and
WHEREAS,the CDBG Program requires all local matching
funds/resources be committed in the form of a resolution by the
governing body,and such commitment contain a n opinion b y the
applicant's legal counsel that the maximum matching funds
represent a binding commitment,legally enforceable under state
laws.
NOW,THEREFORE,B E I T RESOLVED B Y THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
The mayor and city council hereby commit up to $62,181 i n funds
and resources t o the FY20 CDBG Program,t o b e used for project
costs, contingent upon the receipt of the grant assistance.
SECTION 2:
The mayor and city council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona, hereby find this commitment is legally binding based on
the legal opinion of the city attorney, and such funds will be
available for a n audit a t the termination o f the grant,i f s o
required by ADOH.
