HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 22-05 RESOLUTION O. 22-05 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, RETROACTIVELY APRROVING SUBMISSION OF PROJECTS FOR CONSIDERATION IN ARIZONA' S 2023 HIGHWAY SAFETY PLAN. WHEREAS, the Governor' s Office of Highway Safety "DOHS'® sought proposals from state and local agencies for highway safety projects with a submittal deadline of March 4, 2022; and WHEREAS, the City of Apache Junction through its police department on March 4, 2022 submitted projects to be considered for funding in the form of reimbursable grants from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the mayor and city council of the City of Apache Junction, Arizona, as follows: SECTION I : Retroactive authorization is given for staff to submit the following projects for consideration in the DOHS 2023 highway traffic safety grant program. a. Police Traffic Services "STEP" $84, 922 ® STEP Overtime ® (6) Eagle 3 radars ® (2) Shield 15 speed displays ® (2) SpeedAlert 24 radar message signs with trailers ® (1) StatTrak Data Collector (traffic counter) b. Impaired Driving Program $30, 000 ® DUI Overtime c. Accident Investigation $25, 577 ® (1) FARO Freestyle scanner Total of $140, 499. 00 SECTION Its The chief of police or his designee, is appointed the agent for the City of Apache Junction Police Department, to conduct all negotiations and to execute and submit all documents and any other necessary instruments in connection with such grant.
