Home My WebLink AboutRES 24-29RESOLUTION NO. 24-29 Page 1 of 2 RESOLUTION NO. 24-29 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES, ARIZONA, DECLARING AND ADOPTING THE RESULTS OF THE PRIMARY ELECTION HELD ON JULY 30, 2024. WHEREAS, the City of Apache Junction, which is located in Pinal and Maricopa Counties, Arizona, did hold a primary election on the 30TH day of July 2024, for voter selection of a mayor and three councilmembers; and WHEREAS, A.R.S.§ 16-642 requires a city that held an election to meet and canvas the election results not less than six days nor more than twenty days following the election; and WHEREAS, the election returns have been certified by both counties and are now available for the canvass. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the mayor and council of the City of Apache Junction, Pinal and Maricopa Counties, Arizona, as follows: SECTION 1. That the total number of ballots cast at said primary election, as shown by the attached reports from Pinal and Maricopa Counties, marked as Exhibit A was 6871. SECTION 2. That the total number of ballots rejected, at said primary election, was 341. SECTION 3. That the votes cast for the candidates for mayor were as follows: Name Vote Total Kalan, Ari 2616 Wilson, Chip 3919 SECTION 4. That the votes cast for the candidates for councilmember were as follows: Name Vote Total Heck, Peter 4118 Johnson, Bambi 3552 Mohiuddin, Mo 2584 Nesser, Tess 4174 RESOLUTION NO. 24-29 Page 2 of 2 SECTION 5. That it is hereby found, determined, and declared of record that the following candidates did receive more than the required number of valid votes cast for the offices sought in accordance with A.R.S. § 9-821.01 and are hereby eligible to be issued certificates of election: Wilson, Chip Mayor Heck, Peter Councilmember Johnson, Bambi Councilmember Nesser, Tess Councilmember SECTION 6. This resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES, ARIZONA, THIS ____ DAY OF AUGUST, 2024.
