SPECIAL MEETING
MAY 20,1981
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction,Arizona
was held on May 20,1981 at the Apache Junction Council Chambers pursuant to
notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Seeman called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Councilmembers Present:Councilman Norman Hill,Councilman Thomas
Damiano,Councilman Marie Shanks, Councilman
Jimmy Eidson,Vice Mayor John Granillo,andMayor Virginia Seeman.
Councilman Absent:Councilman Jerry Burgess

ACCEPTANCE OF THE AGENDA
)Councilman Marie Shanks MOVED
THAT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,THAT THE AGENDA BE ACCEPTED AS PRESENTED.
Councilman Hill seconded themotion.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
ADOPTION OF THE FY 81-82 BUDGET IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES
) Mayor Seeman stated that after
having complied with the State law for adopting the tentative estimates for thefiscalyear1981-82,and after publishing those estimates in a newspaper of generalcirculation,the City is now required to finally adopt the budget.Mayor SeemanstatedonApril14,1981,a public hearing was held to receive input on the
proposed use of funds received from federal revenue sharing and that this meeting
included the second required public hearing.She asked i f there was anyone wishing
to speak either in favor of,or in opposition to,the petition;there being no one
wishing to address the Council,Mayor Seeman closed the meeting to the public.

Vice Mayor Granillo MOVED THAT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,
THAT RESOLUTION NO.81-06,A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA,FINALLY ADOPTING ESTIMATES OF PROPOSED EXPENDITURES
FOR THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION FOR FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1981 AND ENDING
JUNE 30,1982,DECLARING THAT SUCH SHALL ESTABLISH THE BUDGET OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION FOR SUCH FISCAL YEAR,BE AND HEREBY IS ADOPTED.
Councilman Damiano seconded the
motion.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES,FY 81-82
) Mayor Seeman recognized
Mr.Tidwell who wished to address the Council on the item.
Mr.Mike Tidwell,stated
he had bid the contract for legal services;he cited his qualifications,and
gave some of his background.
Mayor Seeman recognized
Mr. David Alexander who also bid on the contract for legal services;he cited
his qualifications,and gave some of his background.
Councilman Eidson MOVED
THAT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,THAT THE LAW FIRMS OF HIRSCH,ALEXANDER,AND SALTZMAN BE AWARDED THE
CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES FOR FISCAL YEAR 1981-82 IN THE AMOUNT OF $49,500.
Vice Mayor Granillo seconded
the motion.
