CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING
FEBRUARY 20,1986
The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,was held on February 20,1986,at the Apache Junction City Council
Chambers pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Hill called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Councilmen Present:Councilman Baljo,Councilman Eidson,
Vice Mayor Bakkedahl,Mayor Hill
Staff Present City Clerk Kathleen Connelly
City Attorney David Alexander
PROPOSED SETTLEMENT ON LITIGATION
WITH YAVAPAI COUNTY )
)City Attorney David Alexander
explained that i n 1983 Yavapi County filed suit with every other city and
county i n the State,based on the system for dividing gas tax revenue,and
the amount the City of Apache Junction was overpaid was $3,926.21,and
questioned whether Apache Junction would gain by continuing this litigation.
Mr.Alexander further stated that upon checking with the Finance
Controller,the City's budget would not suffer i f this settlement were paid.
Councilman Eidson MOVED THAT THE
CASE OF YAVAPAI COUNTY VS.THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION BE SETTLED IN THE
AMOUNT OF $3926.21.

VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
