CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING
JULY 14,1986
The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,was held on July 14,1986,at the Apache Junction City Council Chambers
pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Hill called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

AGREEMENT WITH RALPH ANDERSEN &
ASSOCIATES FOR RECRUITMENT OF
CITY MANAGER )
)Mr.James W.Morrison,consultant
with Ralph Andersen and Associates of Sacramento,1446 Ethan Way,Suite 101,
Sacramento,California,95825,gave a presentation on the procedures for
recruiting a city manager,and also explained that the cost is $12,000 with
additional funds for related expenses.
Councilman Eidson stated that i t is
unnecessary to expend funds for this purpose,as the usual application process
would be sufficient.
Councilwoman Taylor asked for a
consensus from the Council that should they expend these funds for the
recruitment of city manager,that they only hire in this manner.
Councilmembers agreed.
Councilman Jimenez MOVED THAT THE
AGREEMENT WITH RALPH ANDERSEN AND ASSOCIATES AS A CONSULTING FIRM FOR THE
RECRUITMENT OF A CITY MANAGER IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,000 PLUS RELATED EXPENSES BE
APPROVED.

Councilman Baljo seconded the
motion.
VOTE:In Favor:Councilwoman Gardner,Councilman Jimenez,Councilwoman Taylor,
Councilman Baljo,Vice Mayor Bakkedahl,Mayor Hill
Opposed:Councilman Eidson
The motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT )
)There being no further business,
Mayor Hill adjourned the meeting back into the regular Work Session at 7:35 p.m.
