CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING
JULY 23,1986
The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,was held on July 23,1986,at the Apache Junction City Council Chambers
pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Vice Mayor Bakkedahl called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL

Councilwoman Taylor
Councilwoman Gardner

Vice Mayor Bakkedahl
Councilman Absent:Mayor Hill (on vacation)

Assistant Planner Julie Reid
PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO.86-28,REVISED
COMMUNITY NEEDS,1985 CDBG PLANNING GRANT)
)Assistant Planner Julie Reid gave a
brief description of the Community Development Block Grant Program,and the
purpose of the proposed Resolution Nos.86-38 and 86-39,one purpose being that
the City will committ local funds as leverage for the CDBG application.
Director of Planning Chuck Newcomer
stated that one reason for this is to qualify larger areas of the City for
funding.
Councilwoman Gardner MOVED THAT
RESOLUTION NO.86-28,A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,IDENTIFYING ADDITIONAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND
HOUSING NEEDS AND ACTIVITIES TO BE UNDERTAKEN TO MEET SUCH NEEDS.
Councilwoman Taylor seconded the
motion.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.

RESOLUTION NO.86-29,A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA,COMMITTING LOCAL FUNDS AS LEVERAGE FOR THE 1985
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION.
