SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 18,1986
The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,was held on June 18,1986,at 4:00 p.m.,in the City Council Chambers
pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Hill called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m.

DISCUSSION ON BUILDING PERMIT AND BUILDING
INSPECTION PROCESSES AND POLICIES )
)Mr.Mel Mulholland addressed the
Council in regards to building permit and building inspection processes and
policies,and stated that he is representing the Apache Junction Contractors
Association.
Mayor Hill opened the meeting to
discussion.
Several contractors in the community
addressed the Council with complaints.
Mr.Arlie Meyers addressed the
Council with questions on building requirements.
City Manager Michael McNulty replied
that any of these questions are answered in the City Development Guide.
Vice Mayor Bakkedahl explained the
processes a permit goes through including the Public Works Department,
Engineering Division,and Building Division,and stated that the misconception
that the Building Division is the only department in the process,may be part of
the problem.

Councilwoman Gardner MOVED THAT AUTHORIZATION BE GIVEN MAYOR HILL TO BE ABSENT
FROM THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION FROM JULY 16,1986 TO AUGUST 30,1986.
Vice Mayor Bakkedahl seconded the
motion.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
Councilwoman Taylor left the meeting
at 5:00 p.m.
There no longer being a quorum,the
meeting was officially adjourned,however discussion continued until 7:00 p.m.
ACCEPTED THIS 4TH DAY OF NOVEMBER ,1986,BY THE MAYOR AND
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,ARIZONA.
